At Portland Community College

As a co-chair of the Accessible Digital Environments committee, I helped to write and present the district-wide Information and Communication Technology policy draft to stakeholders across the college district in order to make them aware of it and to solicit input on how to best implement the policy.

  • Deans of Instruction, March 2016
  • Academic & Student Affairs Council, Feb. 2016
  • Administrative Services, Feb. 2016
  • Library leadership, May 2016

Four years after implementing the Distance Education accessibility guidelines, we made some major revisions due to faculty feedback. We presented Distance Education’s revised approach to accessibility to the following groups:

  • Educational Advisory Council, May 2015
  • Career Technical Education Department Chairs, 2015
  • Distance Learning Advisory Council 2014/2015

Since 2011 when we first developed the accessibility guidelines for online course content, I have been presenting on those guidelines and how to meet them at PCC In-service sessions including:

  • Subject Area Committee Chairs break out sessions
  • PT Faculty Institutes
  • New Faculty Institutes
