Remington dog scene

Sausalito dog park jewel

There are dog parks, and then there are DOG PARKS. Remington Dog Park in Sausalito is absolutely the latter, and it is truly wonderful: it offers tons of room for your dog to roam and run, lots of shade, and a peaceful setting for casual, friendly conversations with other dog lovers. This park was created in November, 1991 through the efforts of a citizens´ group led by Dianne Chute. This group worked with the Sausalito City Council, the Parks Department and the Marin Human Society to make it happen. Volunteers helped raise the funds to fence in this beautiful 1.3 acre area.

You lead your companion dog (or she leads you!) through an entry paddock where you will be greeted by many happy, off-leash dogs. Sit at one of the many benches or picnic tables, and visit with others while your canine companion romps. You can also take time out to throw one of the many resident tennis balls for your dog buddy to fetch.

Be sure to read and follow the rules about dog aggression (yes, Rocky, if you start something, you and your human must leave), picking up poop, persistent barking, female dogs in heat and others. Above all, however, enjoy the beautiful trees, the tranquility, and the myriad of dog smiles and wagging tails.

Hours: weekdays 6:30am – 8:00pm; weekends 8:00am – 8:00pm
