Jon, a native of the Pacific Northwest, graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in B.S. (meaning Speech Communication), a degree that qualified him for few positions and mandated additional education, enter law school.

He had an interest in law since high school, but it was the three years he spent leading the Benton County team that investigated and prosecuted crimes against children that sealed his fate and led him to the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark, presumably to become qualified to try crimes against kids.

Instead, Jon studied tax law, participated in a number of national competitions and graduated with a Certificate in Tax Law, which put him on his current career path.
